I met with Hemant Malik, who is the Head of Product Line Transport at Ericsson Networks, in Barcelona at Mobile World Congress 2019 ( #MWC19 ) on the Ericsson pavilion.
We started the discussion by talking about what Ericsson has brought on the show this year, what demos they’re showing, and what exciting latest things are on the floor this year from the Ericsson networks group.
Hemant Malik, Ericsson, told us that this year Mobile World Congress is all about 5G. Similarly, Hemant and the team are also displaying the network evolution. They are even showcasing what they are doing differently in the network domain, whether it’s a rare metal with its transport night or whether it’s a core network to allow combat you forever service right but they’re also actually showcasing a lot of innovation around consumer use case is an experience in the landfire G of course how artificial intelligence and automation can really enable a lot of use cases and assist our service product consumers to get the best TC.
Later I asked him why transport is so vital for 5G on this Hemant answered that Transport has really evolved as a really integral part of the overall architecture beginning from 4g and advanced 4g as well as an oncoming departure. He even shared a few examples to make listeners understand it well.
Dez further asked about the exciting launch concerning the ubiquitous 5g and asked to share about the launch itself what that comprises and even the full story behind it.
Hemant even told us that they are launching a new radio for carrier aggregation and
showcasing up to 2022 GP pairs of bandwidth and even launching some new hardware
platforms to aggregate traffic between several bands or a traditional band so that “operators can get the best of both worlds.”
