It was the second time I was meeting with Greg Lotko, Broadcom, at Share Event 2019, and the meeting was as wonderful as the first time. He is Senior Vice President & General Manager – Broadcom Mainframe division, at SHARE 2019 in Pittsburgh in America. He shared about his role, and further, we talked about Broadcom’s long-running involvement in the SHARE event and community, the Mainframe future, Broadcom’s amazing Vitality program, and the success story around their Associate Software Engineer (ASE), and plenty more.
I requested him to share his roles and responsibilities, all he manages being one of the team members at Broadcom. He communicated about how his day was at the event and talked about some of the current challenges they’ll face and what they’re about.
Later while explaining what is the future of Mainframe Technology, he shared some key insights about running the overall mainframe business at Broadcom. We further focused on the mainframe and all things mainframe like:
- The entire marketing organisation
- The engineering organisation
- The architecture organisation
- Support education
He mentioned how they are planning to keep investing around mainframe operational intelligence and analytics and all these capabilities that help the experience and the novice person interacting with the mainframe.
He even shared his insights on the IT breakfast he attended recently.
At last, Dez asked Greg to talk about what comes next after the event and asked him to share his insights about people following the hashtag #sharepgh on social media. I also asked to throw light now what comes next in the coming three to five years.
Greg answered that they are going to keep investing over mainframe operational intelligence and analytics and all such types of capabilities that help not only the experience but the novice people interacting with the mainframe be more thriving.
