It was like a bird of a feather gathering to meet three of the latest Broadcom Vitality and Associate Software Engineer (ASE) programme candidates, Jason, Andrew & Matt. We met in Pittsburg at the #SHARE 2019 event. We conversed about their experience going through Broadcom’s Vitality and ASE programmes, what it’s like learning & developing their Mainframe skills, their fantastic week at the SHARE event, their opinions around the future of the Mainframe, and plenty more.
I, Dez, asked Andrew to give a little context to viewers about what the Broadcom ASE program is. We even dive into why the Mainframe is particular and also the journey events in minor detail. I also asked Jason to talk about what is the vitality program and where it fits into the gamut of what’s Eternity, the process of how people get involved, the journey itself and so on.
Later Matt told us about his journey from the college to the Mainframe and how he chose it along with his roles and responsibilities.
I further asked the trio to talk about mainframe scope in the future, to share their insights on the ASE program following the journey; the whole process explains how they went through the application, the onboarding process, and what was entailed in seven weeks.
