I caught up with Jeni Panhorst, Vice President & General Manager of the Network & Edge Platforms Division at Intel Corporation, to talk about the new Intel Atom P5900 System on Chip ( SoC ) platform, Intel’s Converged Edge Reference Architecture (CERA) and Open Network Edge Services Software (OpenNESS).
Jeni leads a team which delivers silicon, software, and platforms for network and edge computing infrastructure to drive transformation across wireline, wireless, cloud and enterprise networks.

In this conversation Jeni introduce us to the new Intel Atom P5900 and the target markets it was designed for, and where the Atom P5900 System on Chip fits in comparison to the latest Intel Xeon D family of SoCs.
Jeni also gives us unique insights into Intel’s focus on virtualisation and scalability computing from Core to Edge, as well as Intel’s Converged Edge Reference Architecture (CERA) and Open Network Edge Services Software (OpenNESS).
