It was one of the fortunate moments of my career when I got to talk with Kevin Shatzkamer, Dell Technologies. He is a Vice President & General Manager, Service Provider Strategy & Solutions, for the Infrastructure Solutions Group at Dell Technologies. We conversed on one of the hot topics, i.e., Intel and Dell Partnership and their recently announced enhanced speed results with PowerEdge & 2nd Gen Intel Xeon Scalable Processors.

Kevin’s roles and responsibilities enclose a broad remit, covering industry strategy and investment analysis, technical architecture and engineering, business development and go-to-market activities, and infrastructure evolution / futures-planning.

He shared that he is also liable for closely leading the Dell Technologies 5G strategy with industry-leading telecommunications providers worldwide. He also represents Dell Technologies on the World Economic Forum (WEF) Global Futures Council on New Network Technologies (5G-related).

Going further, Kevin stated how a “day in the life of Kevin Shatzkamer” looked like and shared his thoughts on the work he and his team is doing for some of the most significant challenges, including supporting Communication Service Providers (CSP’s) and Enterprise customers in their challenges to achieve reduced time to market and decreased time to ROI as they create solutions to Edge networking & Edge networking uses cases like vRAN, CDN, and MEC with real challenges around form factor, power & performance, and compliance.

Later, in the discourse, we also spoke about Dell’s strong multi decade long relationship with Intel, taking benefit of Intel’s comprehensive portfolio from compute to memory, storage, and networking, especially Dell’s recently announced significant performance gains and enhanced speed results from 2nd Gen Intel Xeon Scalable Processor and details on the performance gains, and how they play into the CSP industry.

While talking about the Dell and Intel Partnership, Kevin also shared great advice service providers, which enterprise organisations can utilize as they guide their journey to leveraging new emerging technologies like Edge networking & computing, the IoT, and 5G.

The video was created in association with Intel.
