In 2023, Huawei Cloud unveiled its new distributed cloud database named GaussDB. This week at Mobile World Congress 2024 in Barcelona, the Huawei hosted their Huawei Cloud Summit, where they announced that GaussDB had broken a host of new records.
Huawei’s new distributed cloud GaussDB database boasts the following key features:
- High availability: Achieving an intra-city dual-cluster RPO of 0, complete isolation of software and hardware faults, and 24/7
- service availability.
- High performance: Utilising the cutting-edge Ustore storage engine for consistent high performance under heavy loads and 6
- times the stability during high concurrency scenarios.
- High security: The first database in China to earn CC EAL4+ certification (with highly secure source code) with top-notch end-
- to-end encryption measures.
- High intelligence: Pioneering the world’s first AI-native database, offering intelligence from development to O&M processes.
- High elasticity: Capable of deploying over 1,000 nodes in a distributed cluster to effortlessly handle highly concurrent
- requests.
- Smart deployment: The unique compression solution that allows for customised identification of cold and hot data achieves a
- compression ratio 50% greater than industry standards. Performance only decreases by a maximum of 5% post-compression activation.
- Smart migration: Fully compatible with the common syntax used in popular commercial databases, creating a comprehensive migration solution that minimises overall migration expenses by 90%.
